Zach's Favorite Italian Meatballs

My son's favorite food is meatballs.  He can't decide if Mama or Grandma's are better, though.  Every year for his birthday party, I have to make spaghetti and meatballs for him.  He loves them more than candy.  And since the recipe I've always used is nothing but homegrown meat and a little bit of seasoning, I've never felt guilty about letting him eat as many as he wants!

Ingredients

2 lbs ground pork, preferably from a local farmer or meat market
1 lb ground beef, preferably from a local farmer or meat market
2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
1 teaspoon onion powder

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Mix all ingredients together in a large bowl with your hands.

Roll into 1 inch balls and place on a broiler pan.

 Bake for 35 minutes.
Move fully cooked meatballs to a large pot and add 2 jars of your favorite clean pasta sauce.
I like Nash Brothers Trading Company Tomato Basil sauce.  Serve over your favorite clean pasta, such as Ronzoni Healthy Harvest.

These meatballs could also easily be frozen after baking.  Allow meatballs to cool completely and place in a single layer in a freezer bag and freeze until you're ready to use.  Don't freeze with the sauce.
